Detroit, MI – The Detroit Association of Black Organizations (DABO) is proud to announce that Dr. Cornel West will be the keynote speaker for their Community Empowerment Speaker Series. This event is open to the public, and members of the press are encouraged to attend.

Dr. Cornel West is a prominent philosopher, political activist, and social critic known for his incisive commentary on race, culture, and politics. He is one of the leading voices in contemporary American discourse and is widely recognized for his insights into the human condition and the forces that shape our world.

The Community Empowerment Speaker Series is a program designed to inspire and empower members of the community. It provides a platform for thought-provoking speakers to share their insights and observations on topics that are relevant to the community’s needs and aspirations. Wednesday’s topic will be the radical legacy of MLK King.

The event will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Dr. LaVonne M. Sheffield Bridge Center Library located at 9928 Grand River Ave in Detroit, MI 48204. Photo and video opportunities will be available during the event.
