Free After School Program for Detroit’s Future Leaders
Nurturing Future Leaders After the School Day Ends
DABO Detroit’s Free After School Program gives children and teens a safe place to learn, grow, and explore their potential once the final school bell rings. Designed for youth ages 5–18, this initiative combines academic support, leadership development, and enrichment activities that help young people thrive at school, at home, and in their communities.
Our goal is simple:
-
Keep young people safe and supported after school
-
Build strong academic and leadership skills
-
Empower youth to see themselves as leaders and change-makers

Each afternoon, participants can expect:
-
Homework Help & Academic Support
One-on-one and small-group support to complete homework, review key concepts, and build confidence in the classroom. -
Snacks & a Welcoming Environment
Nutritious snacks and a warm, positive atmosphere where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. -
Leadership & Life Skills
Activities that build communication, decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. -
Enrichment & Creativity
Hands-on projects, arts, STEM, and other activities that help young people discover their strengths and interests. -
