UAW strikers at Ford Michigan Assembly Plant will receive support from prominent leaders Wednesday

WAYNE, MI – A group of influential voices will converge at Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, MI to show solidarity with the United Auto Workers (UAW) members who are striking. Dr. Cornel West, a distinguished philosopher and political activist, Rev. Horace Sheffield, the CEO of The Detroit Association of Black Organizations, and Mary Sheffield, Council President of the City of Detroit, will join the strikers on Wednesday, September 27th.

The UAW strike has gained national attention in an effort to gain better wages, job security, and healthcare benefits from General Motors, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler. As negotiations continue, the presence of Dr. West, Rev. Sheffield, and Council President Sheffield represents a powerful show of support for the striking workers.
